[ halfday ]
Thank you, Wolfram|Alpha. I guess.
Till now, my use of W|A has been mostly frivolous. But today, reflecting on the strange death of a strange man, I turned to my own mortality. And because I’m such a geek, that meant quantifying and dissecting it. Or rather, bisecting it.
I’ve been around for 37.4 years now. That’s 13660 days. Or 327,840 hours, not counting this one, which seems to be dragging on a bit. But it turns out that on September 9th of this year, at about 4:15 pm, I’ll have reached the midpoint of the american male’s average life expectance. I’d not have known this milestone was looming without having an answer engine at the ready. So cheers to that, and stay tuned for an invite to my halfday party.
Incidentally, Farrah Fawcett turned 25 the day I was born. Another morsel from W|A.
